How to Detox your Body

Do you feel sluggish, tired, or just plain unhealthy? If so, the answer to your problems could be a body cleanse, also commonly known as a body detox. With a body cleanse, you allow your body to eliminate the potentially harmful toxins it has gathered over the years. The end result should be an improvement in your health, complexion and overall wellbeing.

So, how can you detox or cleanse your body? What are the ways to detox your body you might ask? The good new is there are many body detox options available. 1 – Eat Organic Foods

Toxins build up in our bodies from many sources, but one main source is from all the unnatural and contaminated food and drink we consume. These items are ridden with superficial additives and chemicals from pesticides and soil they grew in. Not all of these toxins can be eliminated even with a healthy digestive system.

With all natural ingredients, you are taking a break from the chemical and additive ridden foods and allow your body to repair itself and remove toxins buildup naturally.

If you can afford it, it is best if you make a full switch to organic food but that’s not practical for many who work. Just try your best to adhere to organic food diet for a few weeks or months or as long as you can. Basically the longer you are on an organic food only diet, the more your health will improve.

2 – Water Fasting

Water fasting cost almost nothing and is a relatively quick and very powerful way to detox your body. Unfortunately, it is an approach that many people find difficult to adhere to. This is due to the elimination of solid foods in your diet or rather any food and drinks but plain water only. Hunger along with other side effects like nausea and headache can become unbearable. Usually a water fast should be performed for two days followed by 5 days of carefully planned healthy eating. Any longer than that should be done under the guidance of a trained health care professional, as you may put your life at risk. Another water fast involves drinking only water for one full day each week.

3 – Juice Fasting

Juice fasting is similar to water fasting but only juice from fruits and vegetables is consumed during this body detox program. You can find a variety of all-natural juices in the market. They should be free from sugar and other unnatural preservatives and additives. Alternatively, with a juicer, you can also make your own juice at home. This approach is preferred by many because they are nutrients in the juice and fruit juice tastes a million times better, compared to plain water.

Juice fasting poses the same dangers as water fasting because solid food are eliminated from your diet, albeit a lower risk. That is why extended juice fast is advised against.

4 – Increase Fiber Intake

As we all know, fiber plays a very important role in maintaining a healthy digestive system. Many studies have shown that the majority of people do not consume the recommended daily dose of fiber and hence, a lesser than ideal digestive tract. As the result, toxins in their bodies do not get removed efficiently and they start to build up. By increasing fiber in the food you take in, you should notice an improvement in bowel movement regularity and comfortability. If you want to cleanse your body more thoroughly, it is best to combine fiber with healthy or all-natural, organic foods. Artichokes, beets, broccoli, cabbage, chlorella, seaweed, spirulina and radishes are excellent detoxifying foods.

5 – Exercise

The human body also detox through perspiration. Experts believe it’s the best way to detox your body. For that reason, exercise or any activity that make your sweat such as sauna can help you eliminate wastes and detox your body.
